How many types of logos are and how to choose one for your company?

Logo is the face of the company or any brand.

Through the use of recognizable icons or elements, logos identify companies or products in the most basic way so people can recognize your brand.

So! Nowadays everyone has their logo.

Then what makes the difference?

What makes a logo work well?

And, more importantly, what can your company can do to ensure its logo represents your brand?

Below is some information which should you known about the logo and its types.

So! there are seven categories of logos.

Each type has unique advantages, so it’s worth taking the time to consider what kind of logo you want?

1. Logotypes /Word Mark

The main focus here is typography, obviously. This style of logo strongly ties a brand’s visual identity to the name of the company. You can use this if you’re a new company and you want to get your name out there.

2. Brand Marks/ Symbolic

If  your brand name lends itself to be being drawn literally. The apple logo, for example, is a clear example of a brand name being drawn literally. It makes more sense for their brand to use a pictorial mark than a word mark or emblem. You can use this to create a sense of brand personality with an image that you wouldn’t otherwise be able to with just your name

3. Monogram Logos

This style of logo focuses the name down to the memorable (and pronounceable) parts. You can use this type if you want to tie between your name and visual identity but have a long name.

4. Emblems

An emblem is the type of logo that includes text inside of a symbol. It’s a classic look that gives your logo a traditional quality.

5. Abstract Logo Marks

If you want a pictorial element to your logo, but Want to create a more serious tone than most literal pictorial logos create you can choose this type of logo for your brand.

6. Mascots

When you want to present your brand with a mascot that carries value of your brand with it, use this type of logo. In the real world, you can get see the logo of some of the companies who are using these logos in India and abroad, and got suggestions into registering their brands in public.

But in my personal experience mascot type of logos are quite costly to maintain. For this type of logos, it required additional costs and efforts to maintain print as well as online.

7. Combination

When idea is to combine any or all of the above designs.

You can combine a mascot with a word mark, or embed your monogram into an abstract logo. A brand mark can be supported by a logotype, and both aspects of the brand can be separated and used for different scenarios.

It is suggested when you have multiple business and you want to use logo as mark every time.
